Spring Fashion

This weekend I took a trip to Connecticut to visit a friend. The two and a half hour train ride called for some guilty-pleasure reading. I went to the store in the train station to buy the latest gossip magazine when Elle‘s spring fashion issue jumped out at me. The effervescent Katy Perry graced the cover in a mix of vibrant colors reminiscent of what I’ve seen in the 2011 catalogs of apparel suppliers. I am always happy to see how fashion-forward apparel suppliers are in this industry.

Below, I’ve listen some of the top runway trends that will likely work their way into your orders.

The current trend in women’s wear is 70s revival. Think jewel tones, wide-legs and a touch of sparkle. Marc Jacobs, among other designers, showed a mix of prints and bold accents. This groovy comeback is ideal for the imprinted apparel industry. Think of how great a repeated logo would look on a peasant blouse or calf-length skirt.

Cowboy-inspired apparel is another new trend riding in on the runways of designers like Ralph Lauren and Pucci. The fringe-filled fashion thrives on branding. Belt buckles, leather jackets and thick denim call for rugged Western-inspired logos.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly to the promotional products industry, is the style of minimalism. Alexander Wang and Chloe featured crisp white garments that hang loosely and comfortably. These styles are blank slates eager to be imprinted.
